Acquisition of its RedOne data centre in Cyprus by Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (Cyta)

Our firm is delighted to have acted as legal counsel to RedMax in connection with the acquisition of its RedOne data centre in Cyprus by Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (Cyta), advising our client throughout the transaction from its initial stages through to completion.
Located in the Latsia Industrial Area in Nicosia, RedOne represents an important addition to Cyprus’s digital infrastructure landscape. The first phase of the facility was launched in December 2025 and comprises approximately 1,300 sqm of white space, with capacity for up to 420 racks and air-cooling capabilities for densities of up to 7 kW per rack.
The facility is supported by a dedicated 2 MW substation and incorporates 640 kWp of solar photovoltaic capacity together with battery storage, reflecting the increasing importance of resilient and energy-conscious infrastructure in the data centre sector.
As CYTA reports, it plans to further expand the facility, with the first phase of the new infrastructure expected to become operational in early 2027. Upon completion, the expanded facility is expected to become the largest privately owned data centre in Cyprus.
This is a significant transaction that marks another important milestone in the development of Cyprus as a digital infrastructure hub.
We congratulate our clients, RedMax, on this achievement and wish them continued success in their future endeavours.
