Legal Research
Our office offers legal research services in the context of Cyprus and European Law to lawyers, accountants and other interested individuals or organizations from all around Europe. Having advanced research skills and by using all major legal databases and libraries, we are confident that we could take care of any legal research request speedily and effectively.
Our office prides itself of seeing the difference between legal research and legal advice and establishing a legal research unit or center which is not a distinct legal or other entity but merely a seperate unit or department of the office which has internally and unofficially given the particular name just to be seperated from the rest of the services offered which concentrate on legal practice and advice. Being actively involved in legal research and academia our office immediately saw the need for the provision of legal research as opposed to legal advice and acknowledged that the two of them should not be confused.
Unlike legal advice, legal research does not require the application of the law to specific facts. It simply requires a statement and perhaps, an explanation of the law that is relevant to particular issue or domain. The fees associated with legal research are therefore lower than the ones associated with legal advice and we strongly believe that the former should not be offered and charged as the latter.
Lawyers and other professionals that might need the services of the Center of Legal Research should rest assured that the duty of confidentiality they own to their clients is not in any way at risk as no names or details about their particular case are provided to the Center.
If you are interested in our legal research services, you should fill in the online form below stating, amongst others, the questions or issues in relation to which you want to know the applicable Cyprus and/or European law. We will get back to you within 24h letting you know of our fees and approximate time duration for completion of work. We will start working on your case the day after you give us instructions to do so and you will receive a detailed report of all the legislation, case-law and regulations applicable to your case or issue and a summary or explanation of them by the end of the time limit specified.
Our fees and timetable of work would depend on the number and complexity of the issues or areas in relation to which you require legal research.
